Buyers Market Top 10 These markets stand as the exception to the rule, and the most promising areas for home appreciation.
While most
housing markets have lost value in 2008, a rare few have actually seen price increases. Housing Predictor, which generates housing market forecasts for more than 250 cities across all 50 states, has identified 10 cities to keep an eye on. Still rebounding from the effects of Hurricane Katrina, number one pick Biloxi, MS is coming back to life and has seen a 4.9% increase in housing prices since January. This is followed by
Salem, OR and Bismark, ND at 4.7% and 4.6% respectively. The state of Washington picks up spots four and five with
Spokane (4.4%) and
Yakima (4.1%).
Austin, TX,
Grand Junction, CO and
Fargo, ND tie at 4.0%, taking 6th 7th and 8th.
Mobile, AL comes in ninth at 3.9 and
Albuquerque, NM rounds out number ten at 3.5%. These cities show that while markets fluctuate there is always a hot market out there somewhere.
